Yesterday, Red Hat certification team announced several changes to the RHCE program:
- The RHCE 7 exam (EX300) will be replaced with the RHCE 8 exam (EX294) focused on Ansible Automation and shell scripting; you will still need to pass the RHCSA exam (EX200) to become an RHCE.
- The RHCE 7 exam (EX300) will be discontinued in June 2020.
- A new course called “Red Hat System Administration III: Linux Automation (RH294)” will specifically prepare for the RHCE 8 exam (EX294).
- Successful RHCSA 7 candidates can take the RHCE 8 exam (EX294) and become RHCE 8 certified.
Changes will happen with the upcoming release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.
