The new CCNA exam is here, and we’ve updated our training to reflect the changes in CCNA v3.0. In this short video, Cisco expert Jeremy Cioara covers the changes you should expect in the new CCNA ICND1 100-105, ICND2 200-105, and 200-125:
- Why Cisco went with RIP only.
- How the ICND1v3 exam better covers the big picture, including collapsed core, DNS, DHCP, Firewall, and WAPs/Controllers.
- How ICND1v3 will cover more day-to-day monitoring.
- Why Cisco decided to remove frame relay.
- Why Cisco’s focus on software-defined network is important.
- What you need to know about QoS and cloud.
Training update: CBT Nuggets now has both CCENT/CCNA ICDN1 100-105 and ICDN2 200-105 training available online.
Cisco usually refreshes their flagship certifications every few years, and Tuesday they announced a version update to CCNA Routing and Switching.
Jeremy spent a few minutes at the beginning of his webinar Building a Technology Lab to talk about the changes in the new CCNA, what they mean, and when we’ll update our training.
How long do I have until the CCNA v3 exams become mandatory?
With each version change, Cisco sets a new course number and exam retirement date. Here are the course numbers and last days to take the Version 2.0 exams.
The last day to take the ICND1v2.0 (100-101) and CCNAv2.0 (200-120) exams will be August 20, 2016.
The last day to take the ICND2v2.0 (200-101) exam will be September 24, 2016.
The new course numbers will be:
- ICND1v3.0 100-105
- ICND1v3.0 200-105
- CCNAv3.0 200-125
You can read more about the course update on the Cisco CCNA resource page.
When will CBT Nuggets have the updated CCNA v3.0 course ready?
Update: It ready right now. Here’s the latest CCENT/CCNA ICDN1 100-105 and ICDN2 200-105 training.
Like you, we just heard about it Tuesday, so Jeremy will need a little time to research the new exam objectives and record the new course. Know that it’s high on the priority list, and you should watch for the course announcements on the CBT Nuggets blog, Facebook, Twitter, or weekly course announcement email.
