ISACA’s Exciting 2024 is Underway

The new year is here, and one 2024 prediction I can make with great confidence is it’s going to be a high-energy and high-impact year for ISACA.

Having started as ISACA’s CEO mid-way through last year, I have learned so much about our global community these past several months. Attending ISACA conferences, chapter events and advocacy meetings and hearing from so many of you in 1:1 interactions provided tremendous insights into how we are best serving our community and where we need to find another gear to empower our members to meet the growing challenges they are facing.

While we’re in the very early stages of 2024, and there will be much more for me to report as we move deeper into the year, already there is much to look forward to, including:

  • Later this month, ISACA will deliver Privacy in Practice research, highlighting the latest global trends and insights impacting the data privacy profession. We take pride in our industry thought leadership – look for much more of it throughout the year on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, digital trust and more.
  • ISACA’s Digital Trust Ecosystem Framework, which provides organizations with methods of creating and maintaining trusted, meaningful relationships and processes throughout the digital ecosystem, will be released in March, along with a related course and board briefing. A DTEF guide for artificial intelligence also is in our sights.
  • The ISACA 2024 Virtual Conference will take place 20-22 February. This event will provide valuable takeaways for professionals on emerging technologies and each of our digital trust professional domains. The content and timing for this event will be tailored to attendees in each of three global regions.
  • ISACA’s globally recognized Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) will be updated to reflect the very latest job demands and knowledge an information systems auditor needs—and the Cybersecurity Audit Certificate will be refreshed as well.
  • For those looking for an in-person ISACA conference experience in the first half of the year, the ISACA 2024 North America Conference will be 8-10 May in Phoenix, Arizona, USA. This will be a great opportunity for learning and in-person networking, and for those in North America looking to get a head-start on summer weather, Phoenix is the place to be.

These coming attractions are just a few of the reasons I am energized about what is in store in 2024. As we build our plans for the rest of the year and beyond, we are mindful of the vital role we play in helping our members and the companies they work for be at their best, especially at a time when technology-driven change provides both incredible opportunities and risks for enterprises around the globe. Artificial intelligence in particular has the potential to redefine what is possible for companies and society more broadly. ISACA will be out front in understanding the implications AI is having for digital trust professionals and providing the resources that enable you to excel in this new environment.

Even as we have much to look forward to in the short term, we are continuing to develop longer-term strategy to make ISACA as impactful as it can be for years to come. That includes determining how we can most effectively support our incredible network of local ISACA chapters, ensuring we are providing the right resources locally to make ISACA accessible around the globe, and promoting inclusivity in a way that draws more people – and underrepresented groups – into these critically important digital trust fields.

For now, I want to wish everyone in the ISACA community a healthy and prosperous 2024, full of growth and fulfilment, both professionally and personally. I look forward to providing more updates throughout the year about many exciting developments to come. Happy New Year!
