2020 was a year that called for great flexibility.

In the face of major unforeseen challenges created by the COVID-19 pandemic, ISACA moved swiftly to ensure it still was serving the needs of its professional community, quickly making remote proctoring available for certification exams and transitioning in-person conferences to virtual events, among many major safety-minded “pivots” brought on by the pandemic.

ISACA also continued to put forward new learning opportunities, including debuting the Certified Data Privacy Solutions Engineer (CDPSE) credential to fill a need for expanded technical privacy expertise globally. ISACA’s focus on offering relevant, trusted and valuable learning opportunities in 2020 helped bring in nearly 33,000 new members during the year, for a record total of more than 157,000 members by the end of 2020, as noted in ISACA’s newly posted 2020 annual report.

“This last year with its many changes and disruptions has shown how flexible and agile we all can be when we face adversity,” said ISACA CEO David Samuelson. “I think we’ve all learned a great deal about resilience, not only as people, but in our professions especially.”
