Hi, I am a 5 year experienced Java professional with a 5 year career break. I am planning to resume my career and started refreshing my J2EE knowledge. Also planning to write Oracle Java certification. Can anyone please give an insight on what java certification i have to prepare for based on my experience and the process.

You're not alone, lots of people asked this and got answers, so I suggest you use the search function and do some research.

Also, as for Java EE I don't think it's a good option for resuming your career.

I think a large part of Mikalai's point is that there's no such thing as J2EE any more. It's "Jakarta EE" and it's a third party project managed by the Eclipse foundation. Further, it seems that the Spring framework with its various elements, is more popular in practice.

But the core language has moved on quite a bit, so perhaps focus on that first? (Or not, since many companies are still using Java 8 or 11. You might do best to do a parallel investigation into places you'd like to work and find out what they use.)
