Bad results in enthuware mock exam

Hello everyone,

I'm feeling a bit disappointed. After a prolonged study of Java OCP 17, utilizing the OCP 17 study guide by Scott Selikoff
(I've read it twice, solved all questions, and practiced almost all examples),
I scored between 60 and 65 on the first five tests in Enthuware. Consequently,
I'm contemplating whether I should revisit the book and stop solving mock tests.

Yea I noticed going through the book and doing the practice problems at the end of each chapters, that some of the questions weren't covered or were just covered without a code example in the chapter. I ended having to use google piece together things sometimes.

Pattern variables being accessible outside of the if statement due to "flow-sensitive scoping" wasn't delved into but it came up as one of the questions.

It should be possible to learn the rules for the exam as you write code; you appear to have done that already. Write code that fails to compile, and go back to the books. Consider other sources; I like the Bates and Sierra study guide. But other people will have different opinions.
I think you would do well not to sit the exam now.
