Hi there,
...remember how every (!) movie was suddenly in 3D and we had 3D Nintendo DS, and TVs at home, etc.
It's almost no more, but now we have the "niche" 3D-glasses for that experience.
We see Gen. AI being applied everywhere these days, and I haven't read much on the different configurations (yet), but is this a spike/peak/trend that will fall again (as with 3D glasses) and find its proper use and evolve into more specialized variations?
Similarly, we have general purpose CPU's that is a super flexible (but performancewise a sub-optimal) "tool" (e.g. compared to implementing your logic/algorithm an FPGA or a dedicated ASIC).
It does the job, but not in the "optimal" way.
Is it the same with Gen. AI?

Curious on your thoughts on that topic.
