EclipseLink implements the JPA
JEE standard. From what I understand of TopLink, it was one of several JPA precursors (such as JDO ond pre-JPA Hibernate) that have since been obsoleted by JPA, in part because JPA was designed in large part by the designers of those precursors.
In other words, you're probably going to have to use JPA. Don't worry. It's not that bad. And there's a LOT more support for JPA than there ever was for TopLink.
The secret of how to be miserable is to constantly expect things are going to happen the way that they are "supposed" to happen.
You can have faith, which carries the understanding that you may be disappointed. Then there's being a willfully-blind idiot, which virtually guarantees it.
