Hello, friends!
I'm from Brazil and I'm happy to announce that this week, I passed the
OCAJP 8 with a score of 89.3%!
I've been working as a developer for a year now, but I don't use
Java in my workplace.
It took me 6 months of preparation (I couldn't afford to fail, since the exam cost is very high for us Brazilians, and my retired father helped me pay for the exam).
I studied using the book by Jeanne Boyarsky and Scott Selikoff (thanks to the authors) :
> Oracle Certified Associate Java SE 8 Programmer I Study Guide
Then, I practiced using the book: OCA-OCP Java SE 8 Programmer Practice Tests, from the same authors.
I also practiced on Whizlabs, completing all the questions on the platform twice. Towards the end, I practiced using Enthuware, completing all the questions on that platform twice as well. Two days before the exam, I took the unique tests on Enthuware, scoring 82% and 89% respectively.
I found the real exam slightly harder than the Whizlabs mocks, and slightly easier than Enthuware. I recommend using all the available tools. During the learning stage, I think Whizlabs is very good. As the exam approaches, Enthuware is the best for last-minute preparation.
