Interesting. It's not readily apparent if this is a tool that can do all the necessary magick (pun intended) from the command line and it highlights the failure of Mono to gain traction in Linux in that they don't support it there.
Incidentally, on the subject of apps that are primarily run in GUI mode, The Gimp is heavily scriptable, so that's another alternative.
