1Z0-819 last weeks recommendations before exam day

Hello everyone,

I began the OCP 11 certification journey since last June. I read the Java OCP 11 Developer Complete Study Guide (Jeanne Boyarsky and Scott Selikoff) twice. After I finished the book and all the review questions, I started with Enthuware mock exams averaging ~50% in 14 of them.

Before using the last ones, I decided to re-do the mocks from the beginning. I started to get consistently 62-63% in the 2nd-try mock exams T1-T5. From the 5 tests, highest score was 72%.

Between first and second try, there is a 4-5 months difference:
T01: 32% vs. 57%
T02: 52% vs. 72%
T03: 42% vs. 62%
T04: 47% vs. 62%
T05: 43% vs. 63%

Is this a good sign of improvement? I’m planning to take it in 20 days.

Am I ready for the OCP 11 exam or should I pospone the date?

Any suggestions these last days?

Congratulations on passing the certification exam!

Regarding which other to take next, if I were you, I would go for Spring certification. Personally, it is one of the modern technologies that have been used widely for different kind of projects. In addition, there are plenty of resources about Spring, you can check out https://spring.academy/paths/spring-certified-professional-2023 for more details.

On the other hand, how was your experience taking the OCP exam? How long did it take to make it? How weere you preparing? Thanks in advance!

Certification Results

Sybex 11 - Chapter 02

Hello everyone,

I am confused regarding one of the review questions from Chapter 02. For example, below the code snippet:

Which statements about the following class are correct? [Choose all that apply]

From this code, I clearly understand that lines 2 and 4 contain compiler errors; so I marked these as correct answers. However, the book suggests line 7 as well, making lines 2,4, and 7 the correct answers.

Why is line 7 also a correct answer if doesn't even get there while running? Also in line 3, fins shouldn't compile since the line of gills contains an error.. I know that it is also in an instance initializer. What I don't get is how the program reaches line 7 with the previous compiler errors?

Is it something that I am not catching regarding the concepts?

Any clarification will be helpful. Thanks in advance!

Thank you Mikalai Zaikin.

I just removed the 1.8 version from the PATH on the environment variables.
Now, the jar commands work as intended. I also can see the jar version, which is jar 11.0.16.1

Good morning all!

I am trying to practice some of the commands showed on the examples, specifically for the jar command that describes a module.

When I do this, the command-line shows (see attached image):

So, I don't understand what is the issue. I had the code from the repo, then rewrite it all over again, and still shows that message.

Does someone have an idea what could be the issue?

Passed 1Z0-819 Exam! My experience

Wow congratulations on passing the exam!

One question: you mentioned you had two years of web development exposure. But for Java and the 1Z0-819 exam especifically, how long did it take overall to be prepared and passed it successfully?
