Technical failure about 75% of the way through exam (while reviewing my answers)

While I was reviewing the answers to my OCA 1Z0-808 exam, I pressed the Next button to access the next question and I received an error message saying the page was unavailable, then after reloading, I received another error saying the exam session has timed out and I need to log back in again, but no option to log back in again was provided.

I believe I had answered the vast majority of the questions already - the error happened when I had about 30 minutes remaining. If I have still passed the exam with the questions that I have completed, will I be awarded my OCA certificate? Alternatively, if I didn't pass, will I be able to retake the exam at no additional charge (due to the fact that I may have missed some of the questions and not had time to review them all)?

I have sent the above message to Oracle Support, as advised by the proctor, but wanted to know if anyone here has faced the same problem. If I scored enough to pass, will I still be awarded my certificate? I felt I was doing pretty well and wouldn't want my efforts to go to waste.

I too had a technical failure, but it was different. The page to review the questions that I marked was not working, I had to manually go through each question to find back the questions I marked. I still passed the exam but would have gotten a better score if the page was working. Since I passed, I decided not to pursuit the problem with Oracle Support, but I did mention about the page not working in the feedback after the exam. Hope this reply helps you in some way.

A few minutes ago I received an automated email from Oracle saying that I scored 64.7% on the exam but I needed 65% to pass. I wonder if I should challenge this on the basis that I very likely would have passed if I had been given the opportunity to answer more questions (even one more correct question would’ve been enough to pass, as there were 56 questions in total). It seems frustrating if I have to resit the exam due to an error at Oracle’s end.  My support ticket regarding the cause of the error is still being investigated.

I’m due to sit my exam soon and wondered how you found the online exam environment (aside from the technical failure)? Was there an online whiteboard you could use? How was the online proctor?

I ended up having to re-sit the exam at no additional charge (Oracle said that was the only option if I wanted the certificate), and thankfully there were no issues this time around. I passed with 72.5%. There was no online whiteboard, but there were no complicated mathematical questions (eg involving nested loops) so I didn't need to do any workings out on paper/whiteboard. Aside from the technical failure with the first exam attempt, the online exam environment was OK. I didn't really have to communicate with the online proctor apart from at the beginning where you confirm your email address and they give you the access code to start the exam. I would recommend using an Ethernet connection rather than WiFi, if possible - this is why I took the re-sit in a private room at my work's office.
