Hello!
My name is Raju, and I am the author of "Head First Git" released by O'Reilly Media. If you use Git daily, and have often found yourself copy-pasting commands without really understanding why it works, or you'd like a deeper understand of not only the what and how, but the why, then I am sure this book will help.
As for the Head First series—if you've never read one, then you are in for a treat! This series replaces the expositional voice used by most technical book with a very conversational tone. The book is filled with characters like Sangita, Brigitte, Armstrong and Trinity to make it personal and fun, and interesting yet relevant narratives involving mouth-watering menu listings and heart-wrenching poetry to keep you engaged. Head First encourages you to apply what you've learned—we include tons of hands-on exercises, quizzes, puzzles and crosswords. Finally, I've used a lot of visualizations to show you exactly what happens when you perform most common Git actions—from branching to merging, pushing and pulling, resetting, reverting, and a lot more.
If you want details on the table of contents, please visit a landing page I've created for it—https://i-love-git.com/
The book is also available on O'Reilly's platform—https://learning.oreilly.com/library/view/head-first-git/9781492092506/
As you might have surmised, I love Git. I love using it, talking about it, teaching it, and love making it central to everything I do, be that in software development, and in DevOps à la GitOps. If you have a question about Git—be that about something you don't quite understand or the difference between different command (checkout, switch—I'm looking at you!) all the way to workflows and best practices, please reach out.
Looking forward to chatting with you!
