Try the new Azure Portal

If you are like me, and love cutting edge technology, and new functionality, I bet you also want to try the new Azure Portal. To enable it first sign in to your Azure account and then go to http://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/services/preview/

There it is. The Try it button. Press it, and follow the on screen prompts.

Actually, there is only one of them. Click Get started, and wait a few seconds, and you are in.

Also note the URL for the portal, https://portal.azure.com/, and remember to try everything new with an open mind.

Changing the associated directory for your Azure Subscription

This is a short post for all of you who did the same mistake as me when signing up for my Azure Subscription. You named it something stupid like aebtd01, with the result that whenever you login, the URL for your subscription is aebtd01.onmicrosoft.com. Actually, it’s no big deal, but it’s a bit annoying.

The process is actually quite easy. Go to the Microsoft Azure Active Directory and add a new directory. This time, just give it a better name.

Then, go to Settings, and mark the subscription you want to change, and click Edit Directory.

Then choose the newly created directory, and click Next

On the confirm page, verify that there is no problem regarding co-administrators, and the click Finish

When the change is done (takes about 5 seconds), click OK, and the webpage will refresh.

Finally, check that the URL is correct, and you are done

My slides from the What’s hot session in Stavanger April 3, 2014

Thank you to all who attended at What’s hot seminar in Stanvanger yesterday and the session about Windows Azure from me and Anders Borchsenius from Microsoft.

I have made my slides, and the notes, available at my OneDrive for you to download if you like. http://1drv.ms/Pq6bMV

The slides is in Norwegian, but basically they show how to activate MFA on a Windows Azure Active Directory tenant, and a quick demo on how to activate MFA on a user.

Since the links at the last page isn’t clickable, I also post them below
